MDX-20/15 是 Roland 公司的工程师们在三维实体扫描与模具加工领域潜心研发逾十年的革命性尖端技术结晶。 MDX-20/15 采用了创新的 Roland Active Piezo Sensor (R.A.P.S.) 技术，使其成为一台高精度 3D 扫描仪，能以高达 0.05 mm (0.002")的分辨率和 4-15 mm/s 的速度扫描实体物件。若将扫描部件更换为铣削主轴部件，MDX-20/15 即可转变为一台电脑数控模具机，其性能强劲得足以对铝和铜之类的金属材料进行加工。
